Club Update – 21/07/2021

The purpose of this update is to provide Club Administrators in GoMembership with information on the following:

  • 2021/22 renewals
  • Invoicing of clubs for offline payments
  • Reminder: Encouraging members to pay by credit card – online or by phone
  • GoMembership platform updates

2021/22 renewals

Our thanks go to those of you who have been guiding members through their renewal period over the last six weeks or so.  The vast majority of memberships are processed seamlessly however we know there are other members who require additional assistance.  Your State Paddle Association and Paddle Australia are available to assist clubs and members so please reach out as needs be.

A reminder that once a membership has expired, that is, the end date has passed, members will no longer see the RENEW button, but rather they will need to follow the lapsed member journey.  The system prompts them through this journey, however you can click here for the lapsed member guide.  Feel free to send this link to your members.

Invoicing of clubs for offline payments

Despite the fact that the National and State components of membership are split out at checkout, State Paddle Associations will continue to be responsible for invoicing clubs for any monies that are owed for memberships that have been processed offline.

Please do not transfer money to Paddle Australia, your State Paddle Association will manage this process with you.

Reminder: Encouraging members to pay by credit card – online or by phone

As referenced above, manual invoicing processes are required whenever a membership isn’t paid for via credit card.

As such, this is another reminder to please encourage your members to pay by credit card online by following the renewal process, or failing that, please ask them to phone you, your State Paddle Association or Paddle Australia (on 02 9763 0670) to pay by credit card over the phone.

GoMembership platform updates

We are nearing completion of the user acceptance testing for the latest updates in GoMembership. We expect to be releasing the latest version into our live environment across the first week of August.

Next week we will send out detailed information on the release and training dates. There will also be fact sheets sent out, detailing the new functionality and what it means to you and how to use it. These will give you all the information you need to start using the new functionality straight away.

Webinars will be available to go over these enhancements in an interactive way, and guides will be updated and published on the Paddle Australia Helpdesk site.

Some of the things you can expect to see in the latest version are;

Waitlists and member transfers for events: Great for those popular events and for understanding the demand for your events.

Time zone selection for events: Now, when you set a close date on your tickets, you can be assured that the tickets will close at the correct time for your time zone.

Emailing event attendees from within the event: Perfect for when you need to update people who have registered to an event. You will have the option to email attendees from within the event itself. You no longer need to make a manual selection in Club Email or Download the attendee file to do this.

Conditional formatting on forms: Ideal for those times where there are lots of questions that need to be asked as part of an event ticket or membership purchase, this will allow you to show or hide questions based on the answer of previous questions.

Autorenewals: Turning on autorenewals (subscriptions) for your memberships will mean that your members won’t have to do a thing when it comes time to renew the next time. The renewal and the payment will automatically renew. Members can opt in for the auto renewal if you set it up as optional. The relevant State and PA fees will automatically apply.

As noted above, these are just some of the changes that you can expect to see. More details on all of the different updates and information on how to use them will be sent out over the coming weeks.
